About the Club

As Wellington's largest hockey club, as well as one of the oldest we are always happy to have more people join us for this vibrant exciting group of players and club members.

General Information that may be useful

  • We tend to enter approximately 12 teams a season, split across both male and female teams, a mixture of competitive/premier and social/reserve grades.

  • Anyone can play for us, we are associated with Victoria University of Wellington but it doesn't mean you have to have gone there or even be a student, we support all members of our community to play hockey. We even have students and staff play for us from Massey University.

  • Approximately 250 people play for the club, half of which are university students.

  • We tend to train on a Thursday evening, anywhere from 6pm onwards, this tends to be at the National Hockey Stadium in Newtown (by the zoo).
